The booming market demand for Chinese industrial robots has also brought about signs of overheating in the industry. At present, there are more than 20 provinces that focus on the development of robotics industry, and more than 50 robot industry parks. In the past two years, the number of robotics companies has rapidly increased from less than 400 to more than 1,000, and there are more than 3,400 companies involved in the industrial chain, but most of them are concentrated in middle and low-level markets.
According to the “Analysis of Developmental Prospects and Investment Planning of the Chinese Educational Robot Industry from 2018 to 2023” published by the Industrial Development Research Institute, as of the end of 2016, the number of domestic robot-related enterprises reached 3,393, of which 241 robot manufacturers were assembled in Shandong Province. Next to Guangdong, Jiangsu, Shanghai and Zhejiang, it is a region where competition is more intense.
Among them, the output value of Shandong's robotics industry exceeded 10 billion yuan in 2016, including more than 3,000 sets of industrial robots, which is at the forefront of the domestic market. The construction of this new production base will increase the output of industrial robots in Shandong Province to a higher level, which will also increase the Provincial competition.
